Interim Corporate Governance Manager

London – City (Anytime, Anywhere applies)

Fixed Term Contract (until end Nov 2021), Full time

Open to part time or job share (please enquire)

c.£50k p.a.

About the role:

The Corporate Governance department is a small team responsible for supporting the delivery of the CII’s strategy by providing a high-quality and timely business management and company secretarial service to the CII and its subsidiaries in the UK and internationally. This includes advising and supporting  the CII’s Board and Committees as well as the boards of its subsidiaries in line with the CII’s governance framework and statutory and regulatory requirements. The team is the gate keeper of the CII’s constitution, its rules and regulations, ensuring that these support delivery of the CII’s vision as well as ensuring good governance practice.

The Corporate Governance Manager is responsible for providing a high quality, professional and customer-focused corporate governance service to a number of the CII’s Committees, as well as delivering successful AGMs and elections. The Corporate Governance Manager will work with team colleagues across the full range of governance activities.



Requirements

About you:

We are looking for a high-performing governance professional with a proven track record of providing high-quality governance advice and Committee servicing to join our Corporate Governance team at the CII. 

You will be a highly-organised team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and excellent interpersonal skills, committed to improving ways of working. You will understand the needs of the business and quickly build effective relationships and work confidently with key stakeholders including Committee members and the Executive Leadership Team, providing trusted and reliable advice on governance matters. You will be able to work to tight deadlines, deal with the unexpected and have excellent attention to detail.

You will be fully or part-ICSA qualified, or have equivalent relevant business management experience from working in a Secretariat or Governance team, preferably within a non-mainstream organisation (e.g. membership organisation, not for profit, pubic body or charity).
