Senior Professional Indemnity Claims Adjuster – About the role
My client are seeking an experienced Senior Professional Indemnity Claims Adjuster to manage a portfolio of complex and high-value Professional Indemnity claims across a range of professions. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling claims from first notification through to resolution, whilst delivering excellent service to brokers, insureds, legal representatives and other stakeholders.
This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to manage significant financial exposures whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal claims handling procedures.
Senior Professional Indemnity Claims Adjuster – Key duties
Manage a portfolio of Professional Indemnity claims from notification to settlement.
Investigate coverage, liability, causation and quantum issues.
Review policy wordings and determine coverage positions.
Appoint and manage solicitors, loss adjusters, forensic accountants and other external experts.
Develop and implement effective claims handling strategies.
Negotiate settlements within delegated authority limits.
Prepare detailed claim reports and recommendations for senior management and capacity providers.
Establish and maintain accurate reserves, ensuring timely review and adjustment.
Monitor litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Maintain regular communication with brokers, insureds and other stakeholders.
Identify and escalate large loss, complex or contentious matters as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, Lloyd's requirements and internal governance standards.
Contribute to claims audits, peer reviews and process improvement initiatives.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior claims handlers and adjusters.
Support business development activities by attending broker meetings and market events where required.
Senior Professional Indemnity Claims Adjuster – Key requirements
In-depth experience handling Professional Indemnity claims.
Experience managing complex and high-value losses.
Strong understanding of UK Professional Indemnity insurance products and policy wordings.
Experience dealing with solicitors, accountants, architects, surveyors, engineers and other professional disciplines.
Knowledge of litigation procedures and dispute resolution processes.
Experience within an insurer, Lloyd's syndicate, MGA or specialist claims organisation.
